Eric Schaefer, born Eric Hans Schaefer on August 14, 1988, and widely recognized as E Lion or "Eric the Prince," is the dynamic force behind Prayer Authority. Raised in Rolling Hills Estates, California, by parents who were both doctors, Eric’s early life blended scientific curiosity with a privileged foundation. At age 13, his family relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii, where the island’s beauty and culture became a spiritual home, igniting his lifelong devotion to prayer and worship. A pivotal moment came during his teenage years when a tragic house fire claimed two roommates, prompting deep reflection and steering him toward music and faith as outlets for healing.
Eric’s journey continued through education at Kaiser High School and the University of Hawaii, where he initially pursued journalism before transferring to New Hope College to focus on music after the fire. Launching his rap career with the 2010 album Father Nature, he has since performed at over 1,000 venues, including Hawaii’s Blaisedale, and collaborated with local artists like CJ Fiya. His first album was released under the name Pure Pressure. Eric’s music—featuring healing sound frequencies and harps, merges hip-hop with gospel hope in his "Hip Hope" genre. His YouTube channel, "Prayer Doctor," has grown to nearly 25,000 subscribers organically, while his entrepreneurial ventures, like the Luxury Resource of Hawaii and Angel Concierge, showcase his innovative spirit. In 2016, Eric and his family made history as the first family from Hawaii to compete on Family Feud, and then went on to winning the car in a dramatic comeback, further cementing his local prominence and furthering his reach to the nations.
